Alexis Thomas is Senior Advisor for Douglass Park Asset Management.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Thomas, as CEO of Preston Hollow, served as consultant to Lemor Development Group LLC in 2019 and early 2020. She worked closely with the managing partners to assess and advise on internal policies and procedures, strategic focus and corporate structure.
Ms. Thomas previously spent more than three decades affiliated with global banks, diversity broker-dealers, and investment banking firms in roles involving taxable and tax-exempt syndicate deal management and underwriting as well as tax-exempt sales management. She held positions with Citibank, Blaylock and Partners, National Westminster Bank and Williams Capital.
Ms. Thomas is Chair of the Board of Trustees as well as Chair of the Audit and Investment Committee of the Abyssinian Baptist Church; she is also a member of the Diaconate. She was responsible for managing the construction, financing, fundraising and build-out of Abyssinian’s $8.2 million Community and Cultural Center. Ms. Thomas serves as Vice-Chairperson of the Diversity-Broker Dealer & Asset Management Coalition, representing 100+ diverse firms. She was appointed by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo to serve as Commissioner for the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF). She is a member of NYSIF’s Investment Committee and Legal Committee; she is also Chair of its Budget & Audit Committee.
Ms. Thomas holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Columbia University, a Master of City Planning from The University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning from Morgan State University.
